About this category

Siemens makes circuit breakers and electrical distribution equipment, and Maple Electric Supply sells Siemens residential distribution in Canada, with listings centred on SEQ loadcentres and the Q-series breakers that fill them.

  • Q-series plug-in breakers, 15A to 50A, from $24
  • GFCI and AFCI breakers from $105
  • EQL loadcentres from $106
  • SEQ main breaker loadcentres, 24 to 40/80 circuit, from $170
  • ID series fusible industrial duty switches, 60A 600V, from $256

Panel changes rarely wait, so counter pickup in Vaughan, ON is the fastest route for GTA electricians. Everyone else gets delivery Canada-wide in 3 to 7 business days, free over $150 in Ontario and Quebec, with 10% off at checkout for the rest of the country. Price match applies across the board.

Siemens makes circuit breakers and load centres, and the Canadian residential line shown here is built around SEQ and EQL loadcentres with Q-series plug-in breakers. Match the breaker to the panel first, because a loadcentre is tested and labelled for specific breaker types and the label inside the door is the authority. Loadcentres are selected by main breaker amperage and circuit count, so a 24-circuit 100 amp panel and a 40/80-circuit 200 amp panel serve very different services. Tandem breakers only fit the panel positions rated to accept them.
Common questions
How do I read a Q-series breaker number like Q230 or Q2020NC?
Q is the plug-in breaker family. The digits give poles and amperage, so Q230 is two-pole 30 amp and Q220 is two-pole 20 amp. A four-digit number such as Q2020 is a tandem carrying two 20 amp poles in one space, and the NC suffix denotes the version supplied without the CTL rejection clip.
What does 40/80 circuit mean on an SEQ loadcentre?
It is the space count. The enclosure has 40 full-size breaker spaces and can reach up to 80 poles if tandem breakers are installed in the positions that accept them. Not every space in a panel takes a tandem, so read the panel label before you plan a fill that assumes 80 circuits.
Can I put another brand of breaker in a Siemens panel?
Only breakers listed for that panel should go in it. An EQ or SEQ loadcentre carries a label inside the door naming the acceptable breaker types and ratings. A breaker that physically clips onto the bus is not automatically an acceptable installation, and an inspector will check the label against what is in the panel.
When would I use an ID series fusible switch instead of a breaker?
The ID series are industrial duty fusible disconnects rated 600 volt and ordered by amperage and pole count. They are used ahead of motors and machinery where a lockable local disconnect with fuse protection is wanted. Breakers in a loadcentre handle branch and feeder distribution. Fuse class and size are ordered separately from the switch body.
Can I collect a loadcentre at the counter instead of shipping it?
Yes, pickup is at 8520 Jane St in Vaughan, Ontario, which is usually the fastest route for GTA panel work. Shipped orders move Canada-wide in about 3 to 7 business days, free on Ontario and Quebec orders over $150, with 10 percent off at checkout for the rest of Canada. Call ahead on large panels.
