About this category

EiKO Global manufactures lamps and LED retrofits for commercial and residential lighting, and this range covers roughly 490 of them. It runs from directional lamps such as the 7W dimmable MR16 and the Litespan PAR16, PAR30 and PAR38 floods, through linear tubes in T5 and T8 from 3 feet to 8 feet, to rotatable retrofit downlights and double-sided sign lamps. Prices start around $7.25.

Two details decide most orders here. The first is ballast bypass: many of these tubes are direct line-voltage lamps that need the existing ballast removed, and they will not run on a fixture whose ballast is still in circuit. The second is base type, which is G13 on standard T8, R17D on 8-foot and sign lamps, and G5 on T5. Match both against the fixture before ordering, along with colour temperature so a retrofit does not leave one room reading warmer than the next.

📘 Buying guideLumens vs Watts → How to buy the right brightness without doing the math.
EiKO Global is an American lighting supplier with a broad LED lamp and fixture catalogue, and this page is mostly lamps: A, PAR, MR, linear T5 and T8, PL and HID replacements. Buy by base and by how the existing fixture is wired. E26 medium, E39 mogul, GU5.3, G13 and R17D are not interchangeable. On linear tubes, Type A runs on the existing ballast while Type B bypasses it and takes line voltage to the sockets, and confusing the two is the most common ordering error. Then match lumens, Kelvin and beam angle.
Common questions
Type A or Type B LED tube, which do I order?
Type A keeps the fluorescent ballast and drops straight into the existing sockets, which is the fast swap but leaves the ballast as a future failure point. Type B removes the ballast and brings line voltage to the sockets, which means rewiring the fixture and labelling it. Open the fixture and see what is in there before ordering.
How do I read a lamp code like L12WT8/36/BSDG/FCCT?
EiKO builds these from the electrical and physical spec. L12W is 12 watts, T8 is the tube diameter, the number after it is length in inches, the letters in the middle identify tube construction and ballast arrangement, and FCCT means field-selectable colour temperature. The five digit order code in front, such as 12951, is the quickest thing to search.
How do I replace a metal halide or HPS lamp with LED?
Match the base first, usually E39 mogul on high bay and area heads, then compare lumens rather than watts. A 54W LED at 7830 lumens targets a far higher wattage HID lamp. Confirm the ballast situation as well, since some HID replacements run direct on 100-277V line voltage and others expect the existing ballast to stay.
Are lamps sold individually or by the case?
Both, and the listing says which. Some items, such as the 6FT double sided sign lamp, are sold in packs of ten only, with the price shown per lamp inside that pack. If you need a different break quantity, ask the counter at (905) 553-7171 before you place the order.
How do lamp orders travel?
Lamps go Canada-wide in roughly 3 to 7 business days. Ontario and Quebec orders over $150 ship free, and the rest of Canada takes 10 percent off at checkout. Local buyers picking up long 8 foot glass tubes often prefer collecting at 8520 Jane St in Vaughan. Price match applies on quantity buys as well.
