Common questions
Should I shop bulbs by watts or lumens?
Shop by lumens for brightness, since watts only measure energy use. As a guide, a 60W incandescent equals roughly 800 lumens of LED output.
Can I put LED tubes in fluorescent fixtures?
Some LED tubes are ballast-compatible, and others need the ballast bypassed. Check whether the tube is plug-and-play or ballast-bypass before buying for your fixture, because the two are not interchangeable.
How do I match a replacement bulb?
Match the base, such as E26 or GU10, then the bulb shape, then the lumen output and colour temperature you want. The fixture's maximum wattage rating sets the upper limit.
