Tamper-resistant receptacles are standard issue in new homes and renovations, and the Leviton T5325-W is the everyday Decora version. It is a 15 A, 125 V grounding duplex receptacle with built-in shutters, in white, and it wires either by side screw or by Quickwire push-in terminals. Its CSA C22.2 No. 42 certification is the mark that matters for Canadian installs.
Why electricians pick it
- Tamper-resistant shutters block insertion of foreign objects into one slot.
- Side wiring accepts #14 to #10 AWG copper; Quickwire push-in accepts #14 solid copper.
- Impact-resistant thermoplastic nylon body, double-wipe power contacts and heavy-gauge zinc-plated steel strap.
- Shallow body leaves more room in the box.
- CSA C22.2 No. 42 and UL 498 certified; 2-year limited warranty.

Pro tip from the counter
The Quickwire push-in holes take #14 solid copper only. On a 20 A kitchen or bathroom circuit run in #12, land the conductors under the side screws and torque them to Leviton's 14 to 18 in-lb, because #12 won't go in the push-in holes.
Best for: new-home and renovation receptacle rough-in, bedroom and living room circuits, rental unit turnovers, property maintenance stock
