Water heaters, pumps, signs and lighting that must run on a daily schedule but skip some days are the job for the Intermatic T1975. It is a 24-hour mechanical time switch with a 125 VAC clock motor, an SPDT switch and a 7-day Skipper wheel for leaving out chosen days, housed in an indoor Type 1 steel enclosure. Up to 48 on and 48 off operations per day can be set in 15-minute steps.
Why electricians pick it
- Skipper wheel omits switching on any preselected day of the week, such as weekends.
- 96 trippers give up to 48 on/off pairs a day with 15-minute minimums.
- SPDT contacts rated 20 A, so one output can be normally open and the other normally closed.
- Snap-in mechanism comes out of the enclosure for easy wiring.
- Steel Type 1 enclosure with lockable hasp and combination 1/2 and 3/4 in knockouts.

Pro tip from the counter
Use both sides of the SPDT contact when two loads must never run together, for example a day circuit on the normally open terminal and a night circuit on the normally closed one; the switch hands off between them automatically without a second timer.
Best for: water heater and pool pump scheduling, commercial signs and lighting, ventilation, loads that skip weekends
