Pool pumps, parking lot lights and ventilation fans on 208-277 V circuits still get switched reliably by a 24-hour dial timer. The Intermatic T106R is a mechanical time switch with a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) 40 A contact and a 208-277 VAC clock motor, in a grey NEMA 3R steel case for indoor or outdoor mounting. The SPDT contact gives both a normally open and a normally closed circuit.
Why electricians pick it
- SPDT contact: one normally open and one normally closed circuit from a single pole.
- 40 A contact rating for heavy loads.
- 208-277 VAC, 60 Hz clock motor.
- NEMA 3R steel enclosure for indoor or outdoor mounting.
- Up to 12 ON/OFF operations per day; one ON and one OFF tripper included.
- Manual override for testing and service.

Pro tip from the counter
The T106R switches only one pole. On a 240 V or 208 V load the other leg stays live at the equipment even when the timer is OFF, so lock out at the breaker before servicing a pump or heater, and use the DPST T104R where the code or the job calls for both legs to open.
Best for: two-speed pool pumps, outdoor and parking lot lighting on 277 V, exhaust fans, alternating loads between two circuits
