Pool pumps, water heaters, circulation motors and outdoor lighting on 208 V or 240 V circuits still run most reliably on a mechanical time switch. The Intermatic T104R3 is a 24-hour, 208-277 VAC mechanical time switch with a double-pole single-throw (DPST) 40 A contact, housed in a beige Type 3R metal enclosure for indoor or outdoor mounting. It allows up to 12 ON and 12 OFF operations a day.

Pro tip from the counter

Bring conduit in through the bottom or back knockouts Intermatic provides, not through the top or upper sides of the case. A Type 3R enclosure sheds rain from above, and a punched top entry is the usual way water ends up running down onto the clock mechanism.
