For loads that should run up to an hour and then shut off on their own, a mechanical timer is simple and reliable. The Intermatic FD60MAC is a spring wound decorator countdown timer with a 60-minute maximum, in light almond to match almond devices and plates. It switches 125-277 VAC loads through an SPST contact and needs no power of its own to keep time.
Why electricians pick it
- 60-minute dial for fans, heaters and lights that need a longer run.
- Spring wound, so no neutral or standby power is needed.
- Covers 125 to 277 VAC circuits.
- Light almond finish matches older almond devices.
- UL and CSA listed; replaces a standard single-pole switch.

Pro tip from the counter
Check the load against the voltage it's actually on: the contact is good for 20 A resistive at 125 V but only 10 A at 250 or 277 V, and just 7 A on incandescent or heat lamp loads at 125 V. On a 277 V commercial circuit or a bank of heat lamps, add up the amps before using it to switch the load directly.
Best for: bathroom fans and heat lamps, garage heaters, workshop and hobby room lights, almond-device renovations, commercial washrooms
