It is the rough-in can that pairs with Galaxy's 200-series 4 in trims, and electricians and renovators order it by the case for pot light layouts.

Non-IC means insulation must stay clear of the can, and a 50 W lamp makes real heat inside it. Use the RS2000 in basement and between-floor ceilings; for a top-floor ceiling under attic insulation, order Galaxy's IC airtight RS2000IC/AT-S instead of trying to box the insulation away from this housing.
