The Intermatic WP1150C is a single-gang plastic in-use weatherproof cover with a deep 4.75 in bubble, so the lid still closes over bulky plugs while they're in use. The clear UV-stabilized polycarbonate lid mounts vertically or horizontally and lets you see what's plugged in without opening it.

Size the cover to the plug, not the box. Measure the deepest thing that will live in the receptacle, such as a plug-in timer or a landscape lighting transformer, and add room for the cord bend. That is when the 4.75 in depth of the WP1150C pays for itself.
