Pool owners moving off mechanical time clocks want pump, heater, lights and spa valves on one wireless system. The Intermatic PE653 is the 5-circuit receiver for Intermatic's MultiWave pool and spa automation: it switches the loads, works with the PE953 hand-held transceiver, and talks to variable-speed pumps, chlorinators and temperature sensors through its RS485 port. Intermatic positions it for upgrading existing mechanical-timer installations.

Pro tip from the counter
Put the main filter pump on circuit 1, since it is the only output rated 20 A (17 FLA); circuits 2 to 5 top out at 10 FLA. If the pump or a booster pump's nameplate FLA is higher than the circuit it's landing on, have your electrician drive it through a contactor instead of the receiver relay.
