The Intermatic WP5100C is one of the most common extra-duty in-use covers on Canadian job sites: a single-gang, 2.75 in deep cover with a clear lid and grey base that keeps a receptacle weatherproof with a cord plugged in. It mounts vertically or horizontally, takes a standard padlock and uses a reinforced hinge pin that stands up to cords hanging off the lid.

Pro tip from the counter

Most new outdoor receptacles are GFCI or Decora-style, and Intermatic's data sheet says this cover ships pre-set for a GFCI with no insert needed. Check the opening before hunting for an insert. Keep the WP17 pieces only for duplex or single round receptacles.
