Common questions
What is the difference between a concrete-pour box and a wood-floor box?
A concrete-pour floor box is designed to be set into wet concrete with an adjustable ring that finishes flush with the poured slab. A wood-floor box drops into a cutout in a subfloor with a shallower body. They are not interchangeable.
Are Arlington floor boxes listed for retrofit?
Some models are listed for both new-construction pour and cut-in retrofit; others are new-construction only. Confirm the retrofit listing on the spec sheet — installing a non-retrofit box in an existing floor is not CEC-compliant.
Can I put low-voltage and line-voltage in the same floor box?
Only using a listed divided floor box that maintains the required separation between the two systems per the CEC. Arlington sells combination-service floor boxes with factory dividers for exactly this case.
