Pro tip from the counter
On battery-only installs, warn the occupant not to ignore the low-battery icon: per Pro1, after 21 more days the setpoints lock to 55°F heat / 85°F cool, and after day 63 the thermostat shuts the system off until batteries are replaced. Running the C (common) wire whenever one is available avoids a no-heat call in January.
