Pool pumps, circulation systems and irrigation often shouldn't run every day, and an ordinary 24-hour timer can't skip days. The Intermatic T1471BR "Skipper" is a 24-hour dial time switch with a skip-a-day feature, four single-throw poles (4PST) rated 40 A each and a 120 VAC clock motor wired on separate terminals. It comes in a NEMA 3R steel case for indoor or outdoor mounting.
Why electricians pick it
- Skip-a-day feature, with three day-skipper screws included.
- Four 40 A poles to switch several circuits or both legs of multiple loads.
- Separate clock motor terminals, so the switched circuits don't have to be on the clock's voltage.
- Motor ratings up to 5 HP at 240 V single-phase and 10 HP at 240 V three-phase.
- Up to 10 on/off operations per day with manual override.

Pro tip from the counter
Because the clock motor has its own terminals, feed it from a separate always-on 120 V source rather than tapping it off a switched load circuit. That way turning off the pump breaker for service doesn't stop the clock, and the schedule is still correct when the breaker goes back on.
Best for: pool and spa pumps, irrigation and circulation pumps, multi-circuit lighting schedules, commercial equipment that runs on selected days
