Pool and spa combinations need the pump, valves and heater switched together so the spa can be fired up without a trip to the equipment pad. The Intermatic RC2163BFE combines a 24-hour electronic time clock, a 100 A load centre and two PE24VA valve actuators in one Type 3R enclosure. One touch overrides the filter schedule, runs the pump, rotates the valves to spa mode and swaps the heater to its spa setpoint.

Pro tip from the counter
Set the pool and spa temperatures on the heater's dual thermostat before commissioning, because the RC2163BFE only switches between those two presets. It also needs a heater with compatible 3-wire dual-thermostat control, so confirm the heater model before quoting the job.
Best for: pool and spa combination installs, water feature valve control, retrofits of older pool timer panels, pool service contractors
