Nobody specifies an obsolete pilot light into a new panel. People buy them to match — a run of identical indicators across a machine line, a control station where one lamp holder failed and the other eleven are fine, a legacy panel where moving to a modern holder means enlarging every cutout. That is a legitimate reason to want this part, and it is why we keep listing it instead of quietly deleting it.

Pro tip from the counter
On an obsolete indicator the panel cutout strands you long before the lamp does. Put a caliper on the existing hole and count the bezel threads before you commit to any replacement family — a modern holder will not necessarily fill a legacy cutout, and finding that out means either a blanking ring or drilling out a live control station. Doing the measurement on the bench, off a spare, costs nothing.
Best for: maintenance electricians matching an existing run of indicators on a legacy control panel, where changing holder families would mean re-cutting every station.
