Commercial and institutional buildings often run electric heat at 347 V or 277 V, and a standard 240 V thermostat can't control it. The Ouellet OTH5007 is a non-programmable electronic line voltage thermostat for 277/347 V heaters, handling up to 4000 W at 277 V or 5000 W at 347 V. It uses proportional pulsing control, which holds temperature more evenly than a mechanical thermostat.
Why electricians pick it
- Rated 277/347 V, up to 14.4 A: 4000 W at 277 V or 5000 W at 347 V.
- Electronic proportional pulsing control with 0.5°C resolution.
- Selectable 15-second cycle for convectors and baseboards or 10-minute cycle for fan-forced heaters.
- Setpoints saved permanently through power outages; minimum and maximum setpoints can be limited.
- 2-wire installation; 3-year warranty.

Pro tip from the counter
Check the minimum load as well as the maximum. The OTH5007 needs at least 1.25 A, which is about 435 W at 347 V or about 345 W at 277 V, so a single small convector below that on its own circuit won't be controlled properly. Group it with another heater or pick a different control.
Best for: schools and institutional buildings, 347 V commercial electric heat, 277 V baseboards and convectors, fan-forced heaters in corridors and entrances
