Uninsulated ring, spade and butt terminals need a consistent, full-cycle crimp to hold under vibration, which pliers-style crimpers can't guarantee. The Techspan RAT-NINS is a ratcheting crimp tool for non-insulated terminals from 22 to 8 AWG, used by panel builders, maintenance electricians and equipment techs who terminate a lot of bare-barrel connectors.
Why panel builders pick it
- Covers non-insulated terminals from 22 to 8 AWG in one tool.
- Ratchet action forces a complete crimp cycle every time, with a quick release for a mis-positioned terminal.
- Pressure adjustment wheel to fine-tune crimp force.
- Dies change with thumbscrews; a replacement die set (RAT-NINS-DIE) is available.
- Cushion grips and a light 1.1 lb weight for high-volume terminating.

Pro tip from the counter
When you switch terminal brands, crimp a sample and pull-test it before running production, and only then touch the adjustment wheel. Cranking the pressure up to make a thin-walled barrel look tighter can shear the barrel or cut conductor strands, which a pull test catches and a visual check doesn't.
Best for: control panel builders, industrial maintenance electricians, battery and equipment wiring, OEM harness work, service vans terminating bare ring and spade lugs
