Fine-stranded 1/0 AWG conductors splay under a clamp or set-screw terminal, leaving loose strands and a poor connection. The Techspan FERN-1/0-18C is a non-insulated wire ferrule that crimps over the stripped conductor to form a solid, tinned pin for terminal blocks, drives and disconnect switches. It has an 18 mm barrel and comes in a pack of 100 for panel shops and industrial electricians.

Pro tip from the counter

Strip the conductor so the copper reaches the end of the 18 mm barrel, then crimp with a die made for 1/0 ferrules rather than a lug die. A hex or indent lug crimp leaves an oval pin that may not seat fully in a square clamp terminal.
