Closets, hallways, laundry rooms and basements need a low-profile ceiling light that goes up fast and never needs a bulb. The Galaxy Lighting L648130WH is a 7-7/8 in round LED ceiling light only 5/8 in thick, with an integrated 15 W, 120 V LED giving 900 lumens at 3000K behind a polycarbonate lens. It is dimmable and listed as ENERGY STAR, which makes it a common pick for builders and rental unit upgrades.

Pro tip from the counter
A few 15 W fixtures on one old incandescent dimmer can fall below its minimum load and flicker or buzz, so use an LED-rated dimmer with a low-end trim adjustment and set the trim after all the lights on that circuit are installed.
Best for: closets and hallways, basements with low ceilings, laundry and utility rooms, rental unit and condo upgrades, builder packages
