Stranded 12 AWG wire landed bare in a screw clamp or spring terminal frays, loosens and can short to the next point. The Techspan FER-12-10D is a grey insulated single ferrule for 12 AWG (4 mm²) copper stranded wire with a 10 mm pin, sold in a bag of 500. Panel builders and control electricians use these wire ferrules to give every termination a clean, solid pin.

Pro tip from the counter
Don't sort ferrules by colour alone when a panel mixes brands. Grey means 4 mm² (12 AWG) only under the DIN colour code; ferrules made to the French colour code use grey for 2.5 mm², so check the size printed on the bag before a mixed bin gets refilled.
