Bathroom exhaust fans and heat lamps get left running for hours. The Leviton DT130-1LW is a Decora in-wall countdown timer switch with four preset buttons (5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes) plus a separate off button, so the load shuts itself off. It replaces a single-pole switch on 120 VAC circuits and can go in with or without a neutral, which makes this 30-minute timer switch an easy swap in older homes.

Pro tip from the counter

If the box has a neutral, connect it even though this timer doesn't require one. Without a neutral the timer powers itself by passing a trickle of current through the load, and a single low-wattage LED lamp on that circuit can glow or flicker while it is supposed to be off.
