OFM vs ODL — what's the difference?
OFM is Ouellet's standard white baseboard — a solid, code-compliant workhorse for most rooms. ODL is the premium finish line (metallic charcoal and other colors) with a heavier feel and a lower profile designed to look intentional in a finished space. Same heating principle, different aesthetic and price point.
240V vs 120V — which do I need?
Most Canadian residential heating baseboards over ~1000W run on 240V (or 208V in commercial buildings) because higher voltage handles the load with thinner wire. 120V units exist for small rooms tied to an existing 120V circuit. A licensed electrician confirms what your panel and circuit can support — do not guess.
Built-in thermostat vs wall thermostat?
Built-in (on the heater) is the cheapest install — fine for a rental, garage, or spare room. Wall-mounted line-voltage or low-voltage thermostats (like the OTH24 series) give more accurate temperature control, programmability and a cleaner user experience for a main living space. Wiring approach differs; your electrician will spec it.
