Littelfuse is an American manufacturer of circuit protection, and this page carries the power fuses and blocks used in Canadian panels and industrial equipment: FLSR Class RK5 time delay fuses and JTD Class J time delay fuses, both 600 volt, plus LFJ Class J blocks up to 400A. Order by class first, then amperage. FLSR is dimensionally an RK5 and fits R blocks with the rejection feature, while JTD is Class J and needs a J block. The ID suffix on a JTD marks the indicating version that shows when the fuse has opened.
Common questions
What does the ID suffix mean on JTD100ID or JTD400ID?
ID is the indicating build. It carries a visual indicator that changes state when the element opens, so a technician can find the blown fuse without pulling and testing each one in the block. On the block side, a listing marked NON-ID has no indicator provision, so decide the fuse and block together rather than separately.
RK5 or Class J, which should I spec?
RK5 is the general purpose choice and drops into existing R-class blocks, which is why it carries most retrofit work. Class J is physically smaller for the same amperage and sits at a higher performance level, which is why new equipment often calls for it. Where the equipment nameplate names a class, use that class instead of substituting.
How do I read an LFJ block number like LFJ601003C?
LFJ is the Class J block series, and the digits carry voltage, amperage and pole count, so LFJ601003C is a 600 volt 100 amp three pole block while LFJ604003C is the 400 amp unit in the same family. The listing spells out those ratings, so check amperage and poles against the panel schedule before ordering.
Can I run a 100A fuse in a 400A block?
Not physically. Class J body dimensions step up with the amperage band, so a 400 amp block is built for 400 amp class fuses and a 100 amp fuse will not land in the clips. Blocks are sold to a band, so order the block for the fuse size you actually intend to run, and revisit it if the load gets upsized.
