How many lumens do I need over a loading door?
A single man door or service door is usually covered by 2000 to 3000 lumens, matching the 15W and 30W cube packs. A loading bay or a stretch of parking lot wants 5000 lumens and up, into the 50W to 120W glass packs. Mounting height and throw distance both shift that number.
What does DLC listed mean?
DLC is the DesignLights Consortium, which tests and lists commercial LED products for efficiency. Many Canadian utility rebate programs require a DLC listed fixture to qualify. Several packs here state DLC Premium or DLC V4.0 on the product page. Check your utility current program rules before counting on a rebate.
Should I use a photocell or switch the fixtures from inside?
