Motor feeds, equipment drops and short flexible runs need a solid mechanical termination where the flex meets the box. The Nesco NES-155 is a 1-1/2 in zinc die-cast squeeze connector for steel flexible metal conduit (FMC), sized for a 1-1/2 in knockout. Electricians use this flex connector on industrial and commercial jobs where vibration or equipment movement rules out rigid conduit.

Pro tip from the counter

Punch the box with a 1-1/2 in trade-size knockout punch, which cuts a hole close to 2 in across, rather than a 1-1/2 in hole saw that leaves the thread too tight to pass. Then run the locknut down until its teeth bite through the paint, because on metal boxes that contact is part of the bonding path.
