The Lovato SM1P1800KIT pairs an SM1P1800 push-button manual motor starter (motor protection circuit breaker), adjustable from 13 to 18 A, with a Type 4X enclosure. The breaker gives thermal overload, magnetic short-circuit and phase-failure protection in one device.

Pro tip from the counter

On a single-phase motor, have the electrician route the circuit through all three poles in series, for example line through pole 1, jumper pole 1 load to pole 2 line, and so on. Using only two poles leaves the third without current, and the phase-failure detection can read that as a lost phase and trip the starter.
