How long must an emergency light run after a power failure?
The required duration comes from the building code for your occupancy, commonly 30 minutes or longer for egress lighting. Confirm the requirement for your building type, then select a unit whose rated capacity covers the connected remote heads for that duration.
Do emergency battery units need testing?
Yes. Emergency lighting requires scheduled testing and record keeping under the fire code. A monthly function test and an annual full-duration test are typical. Check the requirements applicable to your building.
What does the multi-voltage rating on the occupancy sensor mean?
The SENPIR-CM-03 accepts 120V, 277V or 347V supply, with a different maximum load at each. That flexibility means one part number covers residential, US commercial and Canadian 347V commercial installations, but the load limit changes with the voltage.
Where should a ceiling occupancy sensor be mounted?
Centrally in the space, with a clear line of sight to the areas people occupy, and away from HVAC diffusers that can trigger false detection. PIR sensors need line of sight and will not see around partitions or into cubicles.
