Common questions
How often does the CEC require conduit support?
EMT and rigid conduit support spacing is defined in the CEC (Rule 12-1010 and related), typically within 900 mm of every box and at maximum intervals along the run. Actual spacing depends on conduit size and orientation — defer to your licensed electrician.
Do Arlington standoffs work on masonry?
Some models are designed to space conduit off block or brick walls; the mounting hole pattern accepts a masonry anchor. Others are stud-mount only. Check the model spec sheet before selecting fasteners.
Can these supports hold MC cable directly?
Arlington supplies dedicated MC/AC cable staples and straps. General conduit straps are not always rated for MC — use the specific MC-listed strap for that cable type per the CEC.
