Common questions
Ball-end or straight hex, which do I want?
Ball-end lets you drive a screw at up to roughly 25 degrees off-axis, which is useful in tight panels. Straight hex transfers more torque without rounding. Most electricians carry both, reaching for the ball-end at awkward angles and straight for final torque.
Do I need Torx for electrical work?
Yes, occasionally. Torx sizes T15 to T30 show up on some breaker accessories, LED fixtures, EV chargers and imported industrial gear. A small Torx set in the bag prevents stripped heads on jobs that do not accept hex.
Fold-up set or loose L-keys?
Fold-up sets keep sizes together and will not roll out of a pouch. Loose L-keys give better reach in deep recesses and let you double up for higher torque. Tradesmen often own one fold-up for service work and a loose set for the shop.
