How high should a pendant hang over a kitchen island?
Aim for 76 to 91 cm, about 30 to 36 inches, from the countertop to the bottom of the shade. Raise it if the pendant is wide or the ceiling is high, and lower it slightly for a small fixture doing task work. Most pendants here have adjustable rod or cord length.
How many pendants do I need over an island?
Two for an island up to about 6 feet, three for 7 to 9 feet. Space them evenly, roughly 60 to 75 cm between centres, and leave at least 15 cm in from each end of the counter. A single wide multi-light fixture is another option on a narrow island.
Do pendants include bulbs?

Can I shorten the drop on a pendant?
