Chandeliers are multi-light ceiling fixtures for dining rooms, foyers, and stairwells, offered here in three to nine light configurations between 19 and 29 inches across. Size the diameter to the room: add the room length and width in feet and use that total in inches as a rough diameter. Over a dining table, choose a fixture about half the table width, with the bottom 76 to 90 cm above the tabletop. These fixtures weigh more than a flush mount, so confirm the ceiling box is rated for the load.
Common questions
What size chandelier fits my dining room?
Add the room length and width in feet, then read that total as inches of diameter. A 12 by 14 foot room suits roughly a 26 inch fixture. If you are centring it over the table rather than the room, go about half the table width instead. The models here span 19 to 29 inches.
How high do I hang a chandelier over a dining table?
Leave 76 to 90 cm between the tabletop and the bottom of the fixture on a standard 8 foot ceiling, and add roughly 8 cm for each extra foot of ceiling height. In a foyer with nothing underneath, keep the lowest point at least 2.1 m above the floor.
Are these chandeliers dimmable?
Several Galaxy models are listed as non-dimmable, and that is noted on each product page. Where the fixture takes candelabra or medium base lamps, dimming depends on the bulbs you install, so choose dimmable LED lamps and an LED rated dimmer. Read the product page rather than assuming a fixture will dim.
Do I need a special ceiling box for a chandelier?
Often yes. A standard ceiling box supports about 23 kg. Heavier chandeliers need a box or brace rated for the actual fixture weight, which the manufacturer instructions state. Have your electrician check what is in the ceiling, or call (905) 553-7171 with a model number and we can look up the spec sheet.
Can I pick a chandelier up instead of having it shipped?
Yes. Counter pickup is at 8520 Jane St, Vaughan, ON. Shipping runs 3 to 7 business days Canada-wide, free on orders over $150 within Ontario and Quebec, with 10% off applied at checkout for orders going to other provinces. Our price match guarantee applies either way.
