Confirm the certification mark and the ratings on the unit's own nameplate against your local amendments before you energize it.

Where does Maple Electric Supply ship this from?
From our own stock in Vaughan, Ontario. That means no cross-border wait, no duty and no surprise brokerage on a heater you need before the cold hits. Counter pickup is available, and we ship across Canada.

What supply voltage does the OAS07538AM need?
208 V. Ouellet encodes voltage in the part number, and this one is a 208 V unit - it is not field-convertible to another voltage. If your service is different, there is a matching part number in the same series for it.

What size breaker and wire does the OAS07538AM need?
The unit draws about 36.1 A at 208 V. Fixed electric heat is a continuous load, so CEC 8-104 sizes the conductor and the breaker at 125% of that - about 45.1 A. Your electrician sizes the final circuit against everything else on it; a 15 A 240 V circuit tops out at 2880 W of total connected heat.

How much heat is 7500 W in a real room?
25,610 BTU/h. As a working rule of thumb for an insulated Ontario room, budget roughly 10 W per square foot for a well-insulated space and closer to 15 W per square foot for a basement, a room over a garage or anything with a lot of glass. Send us the dimensions and we will size it properly.

Does the OAS07538AM include a thermostat?
No - this is the base unit and it needs a control. You can either run a line-voltage wall thermostat, or order the equivalent part number with a factory-installed thermostat built in. We stock both, plus the Ouellet stats that suit them.

Do I need a disconnect for this commercial heater?
Yes. CEC 62-108 requires a disconnecting means for fixed electric heating equipment - within sight of the unit, or lockable in the open position. On a suspended or ceiling-mounted unit that is not optional and inspectors look for it.

Can this replace a gas unit heater?
Often, yes - and it removes the venting, the gas piping, the combustion air and the annual gas inspection along with it. The question is whether the electrical service has capacity for the load. Send us the existing gas heater's BTU rating and your available service and we will tell you what it takes.

Can I get a price on a full job's worth?
Yes. Multi-unit and contractor pricing is available on Ouellet heating - send the schedule or the count and we will quote it. Most heating orders over a handful of units are priced by our counter team rather than at list.

Held in stock in Vaughan, Ontario by Maple Electric Supply.
